New shop opens to support programs, build community
In June 2023, First Congregational Church opened Thrifts and Gifts, a shop featuring donated clothing and some household items, as well as a series of handmade products from people in the congregation and friends and relatives. It is open Friday and Saturday from 10 am - 3 pm.
“I think it’s amazing,” said Rev. Thandiwe Dale-Ferguson, pastor of the church, adding, “It’s not just about raising money, it is about building relationships and community!”
Thrifts and Gifts will be closed this upcoming weekend, June 6th and 7th due to a funeral and luncheon that are taking place on Friday.
After we are closed this coming weekend, we will be gearing up for the last three weekends in June when we will be having fantastic sales! The weekend of June 13th and 14th will feature all clothing at 50% off. Come in and get something "new to you" for the summer months!
Stay tuned for more info on the upcoming weekend sales leading up to our summer vacation months. (As a reminder, the shop will be closed for the months of July and August. As such we are going to stop accepting donations for the time being, until later this summer when we gear up for our fall re-opening.)
The Thrifts and Gifts team thanks you for all your donations and shopping with us. As a reminder, 100% of the profits is revenue to church's operating budget in support of all the good work being done.
