Hunting for the Holy Spirit

Dearly Beloved -

Happy Christmas! I mean happy belated Labor Day. Smile. I don't know if I will ever be able to get used to snow before Halloween. Our garden beds are tucked up in tarps and blankets in the hopes that they will weather the weather and we'll be able to get some more amazing tomatoes out of our plants yet. I have to say that the snow makes me feel more prepared for autumn than I was a week ago (though honestly, I'm almost ready to get out the Nativity set!). I'm really excited for our autumn season! Our theme is "Hunting for the Holy Spirit."

Do you ever feel like your spiritual journey is a life-long search for the holy? Many of us seek, and indeed find, God in nature. In quiet. In listening and watching and waiting. Our autumn theme invites us to reflect on who and what the Holy Spirit is and where and how to find Her.*

Most of us no longer need to hunt for food, but those of us who do hunt or fish know that it requires tools, learning how to use them, attention to one's surroundings and practice. Hunting for the Holy Spirit is no different. It takes practice. Tools help. As do attention and patience. It requires listening, watching and waiting. It reminds us that we are connected to all that is, all that has been and all that will be. And as we practice hunting for the Spirit, we will find that She* is already here, simply waiting for us to seek Her* with all of our hearts.

I hope you'll join us!

With love and gratitude,
Thandiwe
