YOUTH MISSION TRIP July 30
On Sunday, 5 members of our Youth Fellowship will depart for their mission trip with Week of Hope in San Diego, California. During our time there, our students will have the opportunity to serve the community in a variety of ways, including:
Horse Therapy Center: We will be clearing trails, doing maintenance on the property, working with the Challenge Ranch Kids and all the other “ranch” activities. We will also have the opportunity to learn about horses and how they are used in therapeutic situations.
Preschool: We will assist teachers and other staff with projects around the school. Reading, leading recess and game times or arts and crafts will be a few of the things campers will do each day.
Food Pantry: We will be sorting and packing food and other household goods for children and families in need. We will be working alongside the volunteers for Heavens Windows and delivering to a feeding station around town.
Youth Program: We will help with lunch prep, games, activities and craft projects with children from the local neighborhood.
Food Pantry and Clothing Assistance: We will help sort and store donations. When clients arrive to pick up food and other items we will assist them as they gather the things they need.
Family Assistance: We will be preparing, serving and cleaning up the lunch meal to families whose children are in the hospital.
Conservation and Restoration Organization: We will be assisting in cleaning and preparing in canyon areas, helping provide a cleaner, safer, more sustainable environment for San Diego’s children.
Christian Retreat Center: The retreat is for families and churches who are looking for an affordable retreat in a beautiful mountain location. We will be helping with physical projects around the retreat center preparing for campers.
